Architecture 256: Africa's Premier Magazine Architecture 256

House CR180: Madrid, Spain.

The project is a renovation of a bachelorette, once a residence adapted as an office, the place went through out a major transformation to fulfill the client\'s needs. The design criteria was based in generating opened and naturally illuminated spaces. The facade was developed as a simple and solid volumetric figure composed by a tall wooden door, a white painted garage door and a brown colored latticework; on the inside, the designers intended to create a modern yet cozy style with the use of soft colors accentuated by the contrast from the white surround against a reddish local stone wall that was carried from the outside penetrating the dwelling as a focal point. Artificial lighting was conceived as a warm and cold design combination chooses according to the scenery in play. Design: Arquitectos Interiores, S.C.P. Photography: Guadalupe Ávila
